In 2005 I painted birth flowers for each of my little ladies. For Riley, it was her rose. Now at 13 she is not so little but is as lovely as ever. Feeling a little sentimental, perhaps. Thankful, indeed.

I have been selected to be a representing artist at "The Sandcastle Winery" in Bucks County, PA. They have purchased this painting and it will be on display on the top floor in the new art gallery named "Upstairs Gallery" sometime mid October. I feel quite honored as there are only five artist on display at present.

If you live near The Sandcastle Winery, you already know what a beautiful place this is with 15 miles of grape vines surrounding this historic Sandcastle Winery.

Once they get the "Upstairs Galley" up and running, I'll have inside pictures of the gallery with views of the other artist on display.

Pinnacle Peak watercolor painting

Summer as been very hectic, and I'm taking a breath here. I'm in the middle of packing up for a move. I came across this watercolor that I painted in '89' . It is so different from what I've been doing lately, I decided to throw it on Etsy.

Inspired by my visit to the desert in Arizona at Tucson’s Pinnacle Peak.

This original watercolor is painted on professional arches paper with tissue overlay that creates an unique rouged texture. Colors used in this palette are browns, greens, plums, burnt sienna and a hint of blue.

This is from my South Western phase in the 90's. I used tissue paper over Arches watercolor paper to create a rough texture to express a rugged composition.

I needed to come up with something special for my sister's December birthday.

She loves tattoos,

nude portraits,

her birth flower a Poinsettia,

and she loves her niece.

Every tat has a meaning. The heart and dagger depicts true love never dies. This particular style would be considered "Sailor Jerry" old school.

Now that I look back on that cold day in December when we had the photo shoot. My daughter was a really good sport about putting up with the brisk weather and ME.

I was digging through some of my things in storage, and I ran across this watercolor painting with cow skull and rattle snake. I can't believe it's been 19 years since I painted this. It was signed with my married name before I took my maiden name back.

The texture of this was achieved by laying tissue paper over aches watercolor paper. Yea, I was a texture freak even back then.

Running with Scissors

“Running with scissors” is the third composition from my industrial series of modern abstract geometric minimalism paintings. It arouses both sight and touch while challenging the senses with bold high-energy spaces of brightly animated color and riveting metallic textures. Additional point of interest is achieved as the shapes are activated over a striped background with alternated gloss and matte varnished applications. This process of both matte and glossy intensifies the design and a special varnish used on silver leaf to prevent tarnishing.

I used acrylics, acrylic medium for texture, with combination of gold and silver foil leafing to give the observer a unique 3D experience of smooth yet strong presence.
