Bio: I create intimate, intense animal portraiture that interprets a pet’s sense of dignity and their unique personality of joy, desire, or even sorrow, so that each furry individual can be celebrated and cherished, both in the moment, and for life. Fine Equine and Western Art by Artist Diane Hausmann

Painter Diane Hausmann is an artist based in beautiful Montana, USA. She draws her inspiration from the country side and the western way of life where Hausmann's love for plein air blossoms. While watercolor has always been her medium of choice, she recently has discovered her love for oils. Bio: Making my home along the eastern front of the Rockies I am absorbed by the wonderful landscapes of Montana. I love painting plein air. I’m constantly learning through study, practice, perseverance and an occasional workshop. Through out my life I have always been involved with horses and art. I’ve been showing and selling my equine and landscape paintings in galleries, juried shows, art auctions through out the west ever since. In April 2003 my husband and I opened “Hausmann Studio” in downtown Fairfield as a working studio, gallery and custom frame shop. Watercolor has been my main
medium. Now I have expanded my creative energies to oil painting.  My watercolor paintings have won awards at “Watermedia”, the Montana Watercolor Society national juried
show, at the Phippen Western Art Show in Prescott, AZ and the Wild West Show in St. Paul, OR.

Work by artist Russ Mackensen

It is my pleasure to share with you the amazing works of Russ Mackensen. It has barely been even a year since he started working with oil pastels and just look at his skill. In a short amount of time he is taking on the art world with great success. The image that I choose for this post is titled, My Eyes Have Seen. Mackensen's composition brings a thought provoking question. What has she seen? As the heat of the day wraps around her persona like the Keffiyeh on her head. Her eye's have a story to tell. Bio: Russ Mackensen, Having worked as an Architect for over 35 years I produced a lot of drawings and renderings of projects, but was not involved in fine art. Upon the urging of my wife over the last 30 years saying "you could do that" when we were looking at art, I decided to try Oil Pastels in October of 2009.  It felt like a natural medium for me to work in as I was able to get what my mind was seeing onto the ground I was working on. I believe that as a Christian everything I do is summed up by the scripture "For From Him and Through Him and To Him are all things. To Him be the Glory Forever."  In my life and my art I strive to give praise to the Creator of all.

Though I am new to Oil Pastels my work has already been met with some success with pieces juried into the following competitions:

Artist Felix Rothschild

Fine Artist Felix Rothschild is a member here at Painter's Showcase. I love this self portrait of Rothschild. Really looks like the face is popping right out of the page, doesn't it? At present his preferred medium is colored pencils. The patience of this young artist amazes me with the intricate details he has stylized and can call his own.

Felix, 24, lives in Germany and educated in media and design who fell in love with color and art in around 1990. This developed due to his boredom in school makes where he learn to free his mind by sketching. Today he is still producing stuff for fun. 8 yr old paintbrush prodigy

8-year-old British prodigy stuns the art world. Buyers line up overnight for latest exhibition.

HOLT, England -- He's Britain's most talked-about young artist. His paintings fetch hefty sums and there's a long waiting list for new works.
It all has happened so quickly -- and Kieron Williamson fidgets a little when asked to share his thoughts on art.

"Cows are the easiest thing to paint," says Kieron, who has just turned 8. "You don't have to worry about doing so much detail." Horses, he says, are "a lot harder. You have to get their legs right, and you have to make their back legs much bigger than their front."

Paintbrush prodigy Kieron -- dubbed mini-Monet by the British press -- is a global sensation. All 33 of the pastels, watercolors and oil paintings in his latest exhibition sold, within half an hour, for the equivalent of $235,000.

Buyers from as far away as the U.S. lined up overnight outside the gallery, and there is a 3,000-strong waiting list for his impressionistic landscapes. "It has been overwhelming," said his mother, Michelle Williamson, a 37-year-old nutritional therapist. She and her 44-year-old art dealer husband live in a small apartment with Kieron and his 6-year-old sister, Billie-Jo.

Kieron was a normal, energetic little boy, and his parents were surprised when he asked for pencils and paper during a holiday in Cornwall two years ago. They were astonished when he produced an accomplished picture of boats in a harbor. He progressed rapidly to fully realized landscapes, many depicting the flat, open Norfolk countryside near their home. "We don't understand it," Michelle Williamson said. "We don't know where it comes from. But he's adamant it's what he wants to do. When your child has got such a gift and a talent, you have to support him."

PAINTER’S SHOWCASE founder, Victoria Kloch got used to her Boston Terrier puppy Lucy Bean opening her paint tubes early. “I didn’t mind so much, as I was worried for her safety. But when she chewed the handles of favorite brushes, it got personal.” Turns out, Kloch is extending the long history of atelier pooches, who have long provided the perfect companions and critiques for artists, not to mention art subjects, for centuries.

Kloch began her own business as other work prospects became limited. Kloch observes, “I started offering my paintings through various e-commerce websites and noticed that fine art was being crowded by crafts and other collectables.
